12 MARCH, 2023 - ‘THE CALL OF WATER’ BROADCAST IN UK

The Call of Water’ a short film Ryn co-scored with musician Haiden Davis, is being broadcast on several UK television stations in celebration of International Women’s Days. The short has been shown at 57 film festivals internationally, collecting 29 nominations and 14 awards.

9 OCTOBER, 2022 - EUROPEAN PREMIERE AT CONCERTGEBOUW

The Chamber Soloists of Detroit performed “Black Boy Joy - Chamber Suite” at The Concertbegouw in Amsterdam on November 26th, 2022, marking Ryn’s European premiere. This followed several performances of the work in the areas surrounding Detroit. You can hear the Amsterdam performance here, starting at 51:08.

19 JUNE, 2022 - ‘EASY AS PIE’ RELEASED

After significant delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, short film ‘Easy As Pie’, directed by Helena Burgueño and scored by Ryn, has been released. The score was recorded at AIR Studios Lyndhurst with a full 50+ piece orchestra. You can watch the short here.

24 APRIL, 2022 - ‘IN THE TENSION TRUST’ PREMIERE

Euphonium player and music educator Nathan Heed premiered ‘in the tension, trust’, which he commissioned Ryn to write, on his Masters recital on April 24th. The piece, a solo for Euphonium with piano, is a reflection upon dance and human connection.

JULY 15, 2021 - INVITED SPEAKER AT ‘UN MUNDO DE FUSIÓN DIGITAL’ 2ND ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Ryn spoke at the 2nd annual ‘Un Mundo de Fusión Digital’ conference at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. They discussed how, alongside Julian Kornick, they created the audio for the game Nerthus: Einar’s Fate completely remotely.

OCTOBER 2021 - ASSISTANT TO CHRISTOPHER TIN

Ryn is excited to begin work as assistant to composer Christopher Tin, a two time Grammy Award winner best known for his scores for the Civilization games, and the first person to win a grammy for game music.

JULY 6, 2021 - NERTHUS: EINAR’S FATE ON STEAM

In spring of 2021, Ryn worked with friend and colleague Julian Kornick to create the music and sound design for video game Nerthus: Einar’s Fate. The game is now available on Steam. This is the culmination of a collaboration with a student team from ESAT, a video game focused college based out of Valencia, Spain.

FEBRUARY 2, 2021 - BLACK BOY JOY ON HBO

Black Boy Joy, a multi-award-winning short film directed by Martina Lee, aired on HBO on February 2nd, 2021, and remains available on HBO MAX. This short was Ryn’s first collaboration with Lee, and remains one of their most well known projects, as well as one of their all time favorites to score.

SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 - STUDIES AT BERKLEE, VALENCIA

Ryn has arrived in Valencia, Spain to begin their studies at the Berklee College of Music. They will spend the next 10 months further improving their skills, and will emerge with a Masters degree in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games.

OCTOBER 28, 2020 - LITTLE BOBBY CONNERS RELEASED

Little Bobby Conners, Ryn’s second collaboration with director Martina Lee, is now available on app Hooked TV. This sweet rom-com follows two long-separated friends who have to rediscover what their relationship looks like via video call. The score is a jazz-hip-hop fusion, and features Ryn on piano.

NOVEMBER 6, 2020 - JEKYLL AND HYDE LIVE STREAM

The IU Cinema hosted a live stream of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde [1920], featuring the recorded, edited, and mixed version of Ryn’s commissioned score. They were joined by Professor Larry Groupé and audio engineer for the project Carl Newmark after to discuss the process of bringing the score to life and answer audience questions. This followed a performance of the score live to picture that spring.
